Modern slavery act

Diatec Diagnostics UK Ltd is a supplier of diagnostic hearing and balance solutions and forms part of the Demant Group, a leading international hearing healthcare organisation headquartered in Denmark.

Demant joined the United Nations Global Compact in 2010. The Group reports annually on its actions and initiatives based on the ten UN Global Compact principles across the areas of human rights, labour rights, environmental responsibility and anti-corruption.

We pay above the National Minimum Wage for all employees.

Responsibility

The Directors of Diatec Diagnostics UK Ltd are responsible for the implementation and annual review of this statement and associated policies.

As part of the Demant Group, we support the principles contained within:
• The Universal Declaration of Human Rights
• The International Labour Organization (ILO) Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work
• The UK Modern Slavery Act 2015

Modern Slavery

We stand by building awareness of modern slavery and against exploitation of labour, slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour and human trafficking.

We consider the risk of human trafficking in our supply chain to be low. Our revenue model has a predominant base in OECD countries, where governments generally maintain a higher level of oversight of human rights, labour rights and modern slavery enforcement. In terms of the production and assembly of our products, the company operates predominantly in Europe, North America and Latin America, where the risks are considered lower.

We tackle the risk of exploitation in the labour market by working with suppliers, entities, sales subsidiaries and distribution networks that comply with and abide by our Code of Conduct, regulations on human rights, labour rights and business ethics.

Five Human and Labour Rights Principles
We are guided by the following principles:

1. We treat all employees with respect and dignity, promote diversity and ensure fair treatment.
2. We prohibit the use of forced labour, bonded labour and child labour.
3. We provide a safe and healthy working environment where employees can perform to their full potential.
4. We respect employees’ rights to freedom of association and collective bargaining, in accordance with applicable laws.
5. We seek to maintain positive relationships with our communities through responsible business practices, involvement and open communication.
